​How do you create a BOM for a Product (BOM Type: Kit)?

To create a Bill of Material (BOM) from the Metro ERP's Manufacturing App, follow these steps:

​1) Go to the "Manufacturing" module by clicking on its icon in the main dashboard or using the application menu.



2) Inside the Manufacturing module, navigate to the "Products" menu and select "Bills of Materials" (BoM). This is where you can create and manage your Bill of Materials (BoM) for manufacturing processes.



3) Click on the Create button to create a Bills of Materials (BOM).



4) Product Selection:

  • Select the product for which you are creating the BoM.
  • If the product has different variants (e.g., size, color), select the specific product variant that you want to create the BoM for.

Define Product Quantity:

  • ​In Metro, the Product Quantity field in the Bill of Materials (BoM) defines the quantity of the final product that is created using the specified components. 
    The value you set in the Product Quantity field represents the number of finished products that will be produced when the components are assembled based on the BoM definition.


Enter the BoM Reference:

  • Enter a unique BoM Reference (e.g., "BOM-WCT-001") for easy identification and tracking of the BoM. The BoM Reference field in Metro is used to give a unique identifier or descriptive name for the Bill of Materials. This helps differentiate multiple BoMs for the same product or product variant.


BoM Type:

Choose the BoM Type based on your requirement:

  • Manufacture this Product: For producing the selected product.
  • Kit: For assembling products using a list of components (but not manufactured).


Components:

Add all the raw materials or components required to produce the product.

For each component:

  • Specify the component quantity required for the production process (e.g., 3 wooden planks, 4 screws).
  • Define the Unit of Measure (UOM) for each component (e.g.,unit, pieces, kilograms, liters).




Save the BoM:

  • Once you have defined all the required components and quantities, save the BoM. This will link it to the selected product and allow you to generate manufacturing orders based on the BoM.
