How to add asset from daily activity in Metro ERP?
In Metro, to add an asset from daily activities, you would typically use the Asset Management module. This module is integrated into the system to handle asset lifecycle management, including acquisition, depreciation, and disposal.
Here’s how you can add an asset from daily activity:
1) Go to the "Accoiunting" module by clicking on its icon in the main dashboard or using the application menu.

2) Go to Accounting > Accounting > Assets.

3) View Assets Dashboard.

4) Click on "Create" Button to add a new asset.
Main Asset Information Section:
Asset Name: Placeholder text suggests entering an asset name like "Laptop iBook."
Asset Category: Dropdown menu to select the asset category (e.g., IT Equipment, Vehicles, Furniture).
Reference: Custom reference number for the asset.
Date: The date when the asset is acquired (set to 12/02/2025 in the screenshot).
Depreciation Dates: Choose one Straight Line or Manual. Set to Manual, meaning depreciation will be entered manually instead of an automatic schedule.
First Depreciation Date: The first date when depreciation is applied.
Financial & Company Information:
Company: The company to which the asset belongs.
Gross Value: Initial cost of the asset.
Salvage Value: Expected residual value after full depreciation.
Residual Value: The remaining book value after depreciation.
Vendor: The supplier from whom the asset was purchased.
Invoice: Links the asset to a specific vendor invoice.
Analytic Account & Analytic Tag: Used for cost allocation and tracking.
Depreciation Details:
Depreciation Board: Displays the depreciation schedule once the asset is confirmed.
Depreciation Information: Provides additional details about how depreciation is calculated.
Columns:
- Depreciation Date: The scheduled dates for depreciation.
- Depreciation: The depreciation amount for each period.
- Cumulative Depreciation: The total depreciation accumulated.
- Residual: The remaining asset value after depreciation.
- Linked: Shows links to related accounting entries.
Actions:
Buttons: Save: Saves the asset record.
Discard: Cancels changes made to the form.
Confirm: Confirms the asset, marking it as active for depreciation.
Compute Depreciation: Calculates depreciation based on the provided details.
