​How to create analytic tags in accounting app?


To create analytic tags in Metro ERP's Accounting App, follow these steps:

Analytic tags in Metro ERP are customizable labels used within the Accounting module to categorize and analyze financial transactions with greater precision. They allow you to tag invoices, bills, and journal entries, enabling detailed tracking of costs and revenues by specific criteria such as projects, departments, or campaigns. This flexible categorization enhances financial reporting and analysis, making it easier to gain insights into various aspects of your business operations.

1) ​ Go to the 'Accounting' module.


2) Setting Up Anal​ytic Tags : 

  • Go to Accounting > Configuration > Settings.


  • Under the Analytic Accounting section, ensure the checkbox for Analytic Accounting is checked. (Enable Analytic Accounting) 
  • Also, Enable Analytic Accounting
  • Now, click save.


3) Create Analytic Tags:

Navigate to Accounting > Configuration > Analytic Tags.


4) Click Create to open a new tag form.



5) Enter the Tag Name and save the Tag by clicking 'Save' button.


Using Analytic Tags

6) Assign Tags to Transactions:

  • When creating or editing an invoice, bill, or other financial transaction, look for the Analytic Tags field.
  • You can find this field in the Invoice Lines section when creating an invoice or bill.
  • Select the relevant tags from the dropdown list. You can select multiple tags if needed.


7) Track Expenses and Revenues:

  • Assigning tags to transactions allows you to categorize expenses and revenues beyond the default chart of accounts.
  • For example, you might use tags to track expenses by department, project, or specific campaigns
