How to achieve the Invoice Total Rounding on Invoices?

In Metro, invoice total rounding (rounding off the final payable amount) can be achieved using Cash Rounding. This is the standard and recommended way.

1) Go to the 'Accounting' Module.

2) Navigate to 'Configuration' > 'Settings'.

3) View Settings.

Enable the Cash Rounding option.

4) Once enabled, go to Accounting > Configuration > Cash Rounding Methods.

Click Create to define a new cash rounding rule.

5) Define Rounding Method

Rounding Precision: Enter the amount you want to round to (e.g., 0.05 for rounding to the nearest 5 cents).

Rounding Strategy:

  • Up: Always round up to the nearest rounding precision.
  • Down: Always round down to the nearest rounding precision.
  • Half-Up: Round to the nearest rounding precision (e.g., 0.03 rounds down to 0.00 and 0.07 rounds up to 0.10).

Profit Account: Define an account to record profits from rounding differences (if rounding up).

Loss Account: Define an account to record losses from rounding differences (if rounding down).

Rounding Method: Select whether the rounding applies on a per line or on the total amount of the order.

6) Test the Invoices Cash Rounding.

Go to Accounting > Customers  > Invoices.

    7) View Invoice.

Now, Click on the Create button.

In the invoice form, select Cash Rounding

The Total Amount will be rounded automatically.

Invoices → Draft Invoice → Other Info

    This indicates that:

A Cash Rounding Rule named “Invoices” is applied

The final invoice total will be rounded automatically based on that rule

    Example

    Before RoundingAfter Rounding
    SGD 125.01SGD 125.00

The rounding difference is automatically accounted.
